Otto Schoitz Foundation Awards $12,000 Grant to Support Waterloo Middle Schools

WATERLOO, IA — SparkWheel is excited to announce it has received a $12,000 grant from the Otto Schoitz Foundation to support students at George Washington Carver Academy and Central Middle School in Waterloo.

This funding will enhance SparkWheel’s efforts to remove barriers for students by providing Integrated Student Support services to over 920 students. Student Support Coordinators (SSCs) will work closely with students, teachers, and families to provide resources and personalized assistance that improve attendance, academic performance, and student well-being. The initiative also helps foster family involvement and promotes a positive school environment where all students can thrive.

“Support like this from the Otto Schoitz Foundation reinforces the importance of addressing not only academic needs but also the broader challenges students face,” said Noelle Haselhuhn, SparkWheel’s Director of Marketing & Communications. “Together, we’re creating an environment where every student has the opportunity to thrive.”
