Topeka, KS – SparkWheel proudly participated in the annual Day at the Capitol in Topeka, Kansas, on January 21, 2025. The day included impactful conversations and meaningful connections as SparkWheel engaged with legislative leadership and key policymakers to advocate for Kansas students.
Throughout the day, SparkWheel representatives held a series of individual meetings with legislative leaders, emphasizing the importance of continued investment in educational programs and student support services. Additionally, SparkWheel set up an informational table in the rotunda, where legislators and visitors were welcomed with coffee, cookies, and promotional items while learning more about SparkWheel’s mission and impact.
A highlight of the day was a formal proclamation by the Kansas Senate recognizing SparkWheel for its dedication to providing essential educational programs and support to students across the state. This recognition underscores SparkWheel’s commitment to ensuring all Kansas students have the resources they need to succeed academically and personally.
In addition to advocacy efforts in the rotunda and private meetings with lawmakers, SparkWheel had the opportunity to present in front of the House Education Committee. This platform allowed SparkWheel to further highlight the positive outcomes of its programs and the critical role they play in student success.
“SparkWheel is proud and appreciative of the strong support we receive from so many Kansas Legislators,” said Ethan Spurling, Vice President of Policy and Government Relations at SparkWheel. “SparkWheel is uniquely positioned and qualified to provide our tailored-to-fit program across the state, and the legislature's support continues to play a critical role in helping to make that possible.”
SparkWheel extends its heartfelt thanks to all the legislators who support its mission and the students of Kansas. Their dedication to creating opportunities for young people is making a real difference in communities across the state.
