SparkWheel Receives $20,000 Grant from City of Pittsburg to Support Student Success in Pittsburg Public Schools

PITTSBURG, KS — SparkWheel is honored to announce it has received a $20,000 grant from the City of Pittsburg to support its Integrated Student Supports (ISS) model in Pittsburg Public Schools for the 2025 calendar year. This funding strengthens the collaborative effort to ensure Pittsburg students and families have access to the resources they need to overcome barriers and succeed in school and beyond.

SparkWheel shares the City of Pittsburg’s vision to make Pittsburg a better place to live, work, and play. Through a community-wide approach, SparkWheel provides programs that begin with preschool students in partnership with the Family Resource Center and continue through high school graduation. Additionally, a new initiative in collaboration with Pittsburg State University will assist identified students in making a successful transition from high school to college, equipping them with the tools and support necessary for long-term success.

“We are thrilled to continue our partnership with the City of Pittsburg,” said Noelle Haselhuhn, Marketing and Communications Director at SparkWheel. “This funding demonstrates their dedication to education and community well-being. Together, we are fostering a stronger, more connected Pittsburg by investing in the potential of every student.”

The Integrated Student Supports model places Student Support Coordinators in schools, providing evidence-based, customized assistance to students and families. Services include academic support, access to essential resources, and community connections. Last year, SparkWheel helped hundreds of students in Pittsburg achieve their academic and personal goals, with measurable improvements in attendance, behavior, and academic performance.
